Community Projects ~ Guild goal: to participate in Community Projects
“Cuddle Quilt Program: One of our more colourful members was a delightful lady, Moira Williams. Her son was in a very bad car accident and while he was waiting for the ambulance to arrive a very kind passerby wrapped a quilt around him. She came to the guild meeting the following month with a great idea. We would make quilts for children who were taken from their homes; for victims of assault; victims of abuse; for victims of fires and floods etc. That year we donated 40 quilts to the Firemen and the Police here in Orangeville and in Shelburne.”

Thank you note from Caledon/Dufferin Victim Services
Caledon\Dufferin Victim Services is grateful to the Dufferin Piecemakers Quilting Guild for the donation of a number of large and small handmade quilts that will be provided to victims of crime and tragic circumstances. “We have received a number of these beautiful quilts in the past”, Executive Director Dorothy Davis stated, “and I have personally had the pleasure of seeing the joy they bring to victims who have often lost everything”. The quilts are both a symbolic and concrete example of our community wrapping around victims in our community. Sincere thanks to all the talented quilters for sharing your craft in this special way.
